Living Earth Supplies

About Us

Living Earth Supplies is a new nursery in the Mudgee region, established in July 2008. Tamara and Andrew Bowman moved to Mudgee from the Coolah district after farming there for over 25 years. The Nursery business gives them the opportunity to indulge their passion for beautiful and unusual plants and playing in the dirt. Both Andrew and Tamara grew up in families where composting was a way of life before it became fashionable or topical. They believe strongly that everyone can lighten their footprint without having to be over-the-top green. Sustainable gardening just makes good dollars and sense!

Tamara Bowman

Tamara grew up with her hands firmly planted in the soil whether it was flower gardening or growing her own food. All her gardening knowledge has been gained on the job and she knows what grows anywhere and which plant is a bit more precious. At Coolah she had a 2.2 acre garden which included extensive garden beds, landscaping and vegetable gardens. Her new Mudgee garden is a similar size but has been extensively remodelled to make it easier care and more water wise. Tamara has a training and teaching background and enjoys sharing her knowledge. Her expertise lies in providing practical advice on growing your own food and growing unusual but beautiful drought hardy plants.

Andrew Bowman

Andrew was born and bred on the land and has always had a fascination with the soil. His broadacre farming experience has given him a natural affinity with the seasons and the environment and importantly, how to manage with a lack of moisture. Now working on a much smaller scale, Andrew is equally committed to improving the soil to ensure a beautiful garden or a high-yielding vege patch. Andrew looks after the Garden Supplies section of the business and can help with an extensive range of top soils, composts and mulches all sourced locally wherever possible.

Janet Prince

Janet hates gardening!!! Or she did anyway. It took many years of perseverance by her grandmother to convince Janet that Round-Upping the roses wasn't really a good idea. Janet is now a passionate gardener to the point that she ran her own commercial nursery for 6.5 years. Like Tamara, Janet has plenty of practical and hands-on knowledge and she has also completed a Certificate III in Horticulture. Janet is proud of the fact that her own garden contains plants that were once in her great-grandmother's garden. What a conversion!!

Pandora Theos

Pandora is another member of the team with a great practical focus when it comes to gardening. Pandora has always loved gardening but it was only when she moved to Mudgee 7 years ago that she could really indulge her green thumbs. Pandora's growing experience includes everything from farming to working with a landscape gardener, to maintaining other people's gardens to merchandising plants at a major retail chain. A true all-rounder and Pandora is sure to be able to tell you what will and won't grow in the region.
